The acquisition of Regal by Arada has been named Deal of the Year at the 2026 PROPS Awards, in a ceremony that also saw Regal co-founder Paul Eden win Entrepreneur of the Year.
The transaction, completed last year, was widely regarded as one of the most significant residential development deals in London in recent years, bringing together the international capital base of UAE developer Arada with Regal’s established development, planning and construction platform.
The deal created Arada London, positioned to operate at scale. Amongst Arada’s projects is Thameside West, one of the largest regeneration schemes currently progressing in east London.
In comments following the awards, Eden described the Entrepreneur of the Year recognition as “an honour”, reflecting on nearly three decades since Regal was founded.
“Regal was founded nearly 30 years ago to deliver ambitious, design-led residential development in London with our own in-house capability,” he said. “We have endured through multiple cycles, working with increasingly complex operating conditions.
“The past year has seen the acquisition of Regal by Arada and the establishment of Arada London, bringing together international capital with our development and construction platform.”
Eden also stressed the collective nature of both awards, thanking colleagues across the business past and present.
“Awards of this kind are ultimately a reflection of teams rather than individuals,” he said. “My thanks to colleagues past and present, and to the judges for the recognition.”
